The National Museum of History and Art Luxembourg (MNHA) has recently acquired the impressive work Arrangement of Dancers by the contemporary painter H. Craig Hanna. In order to present the painting to its public, the MNHA holds a major solo exhibition.
Born in the United States in 1967, H. Craig Hanna lives between London and Paris. He reinterprets the history of European painting through the eyes of a master draughtsman and the unique viewpoint of an artist of his time by developing his very own technique (painting on Plexiglas) featuring striking colour effects and compositions.
The hanging of around fifty works is representative of the artist's career during the last fifteen years. The varied subjects (landscapes, human figures) and techniques (paintings on wood and Plexiglas, drawings) allow visitors to discover new aspects of contemporary figurative painting.
