An iconic work by the British artist, which is listed on ARTEX Global Markets, joins our permanent collection of modern and contemporary art on loan for two years.

The Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart is currently presenting a landmark work by one of the most emblematic painters of the 20th century, Francis Bacon (1909-1992). From 1 July, visitors will be able to discover the famous triptych Three Studies for Portrait of George Dyer (1963), depicting George Dyer, lover and muse of the British artist, just a few months after their meeting.

On loan to the museum for two years, the work occupies a prominent place in the first room of our permanent exhibition, Collections/Revelations, dedicated specifically to portraits.

The triptych is also the first work of art to be listed on ARTEX Global Markets, a stock exchange that aims to democratise investment in art.

"The loan of a listed Francis Bacon to the museum inaugurates a new type of private-public partnership in the art world. It makes it possible to present works that would not otherwise be accessible to the general public - and at zero cost to the taxpayer," points out Michel Polfer, Director of the Musée national d’archéologie, d’histoire et d’art. From the autumn onwards, the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart will offer a special programme of activities (tours, talks, workshops, etc.) about this work and the artist, who in 1979 noted that: "Triptychs are the things I like doing most."
