With, among others, Fränk and David Michels, Jamie Armstrong, Marlène Kreins, Dr. Andreas Bayer
Moderation: Paul Bertemes, curator of the exhibition at Cercle Cité
At Cercle Cité, Auditorium Henri Beck (Entrance: 2, rue Genistre)
Since the beginning of the 1950s, the momentum of artistic creation has stimulated and sustained the growth of cultural life in Luxembourg and elsewhere in Europe.
How can we safeguard, archive, conserve and, above all, make accessible the estates of artists? Who is called upon to take up this challenge and to set up the structures and logistics necessary to make it a project for the future? How can we ensure the dissemination of this heritage while allowing a continuous dialogue with contemporary creation? A vast field of exploration that is fascinating, to say the least, especially since our cultural identity is at stake.
The Gast Michels monographic retrospective provides the perfect framework for addressing this complex situation in an exchange between artists, estate managers, curators, art historians and national and international experts.
Following the exchange between the participants of the round table, the audience is invited to take part in the debate.
