Did you miss Victor Pereira's talk as part of the exhibition La révolution de 1974. Des rues de Lisbonne au Luxembourg? The talk was recorded and is now available online.

At the time of the revolution of 25 April 1974, almost two million Portuguese were living abroad. The new authorities in Lisbon asked emigrants to stay abroad, work there and send part of their savings to support the faltering Portuguese economy. The author of the book C'est le peuple qui commande. La Révolution des OEillets 1974-1976, sets out to show how the Portuguese abroad experienced the revolution from a distance and to analyse the ambivalent policy pursued by the Lisbon authorities towards emigrants.
