In 2010, "Bach in the Subways" was initiated by a New York cellist on Johann Sebastian Bach's birthday. Since then, every 21st of March, thousands of musicians around the world have been performing pieces by the famous composer on a voluntary basis, sometimes in surprising interpretations, such as jazz or arrangements for instruments that Bach himself did not envisage. On Thursday 21st of March 2024, the INECC is organising mini-concerts in concert halls, churches and unusual venues in Luxembourg City and Kirchberg, free to the public.
