The Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart and the Centres d’art Nei Liicht and Dominique Lang in Dudelange are posthumously honouring the artist Marc Henri Reckinger (1940–2023), winner of the Luxembourg Art Prize 2024, a prize for visual arts awarded biennially by the Ministry of Culture.
Reckinger was a pioneer of the Luxembourg art scene. With his libertarian and anti-conformist ideas, he introduced pop art, hard edge, and conceptual art to Luxembourg in the late 1960s. Reckinger's works are filled with rebellion - against social injustice, capitalism, and the establishment. The exhibition presents selected works that showcase Reckinger's strong political commitment, from national issues to international cultural politics. Discover the world of this trailblazer, where art is always placed in the service of the fight.
